Don’t Forget the Feet!
Equine conformation and more particularly pathology of the feet affect greatly the way the saddle is going to sit on the horse. The asymmetry in feet is noted in the vast majority of horses. Nearly 80% of horses will have a lower heel on the left front hoof, which will generally lead to a more bulged shoulder on the left. The unevenness of the feet critically affects the position of the saddle on the back, and as a direct consequence, the rider’s posture.
